Ade has led/created a number of unique and interesting initiatives that have had significant impact in his community and beyond.
Ade Adeyemi cofounded the cross-party campaign group ‘No One Ever Told Me About Politics’. They crowdfunded and created an innovative political engagement app – Ask Amy – that helped over 5,000 young people to engage with 2015 British General Election. Ade was nominated as a 2014 ‘Rising Star’ of the NHS by leading publication Health Service Journal (HSJ), particularly for founding and developing the idea of NHS Change Day. NHS Change Day 2014 was the biggest day of collective action for improvement in the history of the NHS. It is a day where healthcare workers, patients, carers and volunteers pledge to make a change to improve health and care.
KOPFADEYEMI CHALLENGE 2016

After a kick-off event on Friday evening, teams had till Sunday afternoon to work on the problem/challenge that an African Healthcare business had shared. The team that presented the best solution on the Sunday afternoon, as determined by our expert judges, won the weekend competition and challenge prize.
Typically, a hackathon (a hacker phrase) is an event where teams of computer programmers collaborate and compete against each other to come up with the best solutions to a stated problem in a short time frame (~24-72 hours). We instead, had participants (from many different disciplines) compete over a weekend to come up with business, policy and tech solutions for Healthcare businesses and organisations operating in Africa.
A weekend Challenge is not for everyone. Only the most passionate and driven make time in their busy schedules to participate and develop great ideas. These are the people you want to work with, solving healthcare challenges across the Continent. We were lucky to have a diverse mixture of participants from all over the skill spectrum.
Nothing like this has ever been done before.
This is the start of something truly magical and revolutionary.
This programme is part of the Kopfadeyemi Fellowship, in development with Kings College London and Chatham House.
This Healthcare Challenge directly supports development and innovation in healthcare for the African continent. It enabled our high-calibre participants to discover and engage with a wide diversity of African healthcare opportunities in a fun and challenging environment that promotes collaboration, intelligence-sharing and innovation.
